Recent development in transport system is motivated by an increasing use of information and communication technologies. Many of the intelligent transport systems serve to enhance passenger information and facilitate trac management. Today, forward-thinking transport operators are proactively re-formulating their strategies to improve customer service and aim to leverage on their existing infrastructures to generate additional revenue. Kiosks can be used in a variety of ways to provide better passenger information and allow operators to manage the transport-related facilities in a more cost eective manner such as smarter trac diversion and exible charging scheme etc. Some of these kiosks require to be installed in outdoor environment for enabling road side applications and so the design needs to withstand the rugged environment and harsh weather conditions.
